5 BIO-HACKING TOOLS BEFORE YOU GET  SICK

sources: pinterest

Being sick is not the greatest. Feeling lethargic, fatigue, even sore throat and cold you just can’t do anything productive left feeling weak. As humans we tend to think the fastest and quickest way to heal ourselves from this feeling. The most common thing we think of is reaching out to your cabinet and grabbing medicine. Here’s some of my personal bio-hacking tools I love to implement when I feel like I’m about to get sick

1) Rest with gentle move

Rest. This might sound overrated but rest is part of the healing process, your body is trying to fight the sickness from the inside and your job is to give your body time to fight the infections, extra sleep timings, sleeping earlier than usual or taking a nap can be helpful. With that being said, movement is another important factor to help you heal if you can spare your time in the morning to go out in the sun and do gentle walks or a little stretch or yoga at home to release tension in your body.

2) Infrared Sauna

This is one of my favourite ones! Infrared saunas are another great way to help you recover! The heat exposure is an exceptional way for your cognitive function, relaxes the muscle and blood vessels to dilate it is great for your blood circulation. Sweating off the toxin in your body is the greatest feeling! I personally love to get into the cold water straightaway! Tips from Dr Susanna Søberg. I felt so refreshed and slept better after.

3) Bone broth

I usually try to stay away from caffeine when I’m sick and drink bone broth instead in the morning, sometimes throughout the day and before I went  to bed, it soothes your digestive system which is technically is your second brain (your gut) it’s rich in minerals, amino acids and collagen. Your body is fighting hard and this can help and this is a great ammunition to utilise.

4) Hydrate & Electrolyte

Hydration is really important for your body recovery. When you are sick your body loses a lot of fluid.  I love adding electrolytes to my water to hydrate properly, you can also alternatively add salt in your water or add in coconut water. Try to avoid caffeine for a little while. Not only will it interrupt your sleeping pattern it will also dehydrate you.

5) Eat your Farm-achy

Your body is in desperate need of these vitamins and minerals to repair, what you can do to help is to fuel your body with high quality  fruit and vegetables that are going to support your healing journey or prevent the sickness from happening. When you shop your weekly grocery treat them as if you’re going to the pharmacy, look at whole food as your  source of vitamins. Broccoli is rich in sulforapane, Salmon is high in omega 3 fatty acid, your citrus fruits are loaded with vitamin C. If you fuel your body with high quality food you will recover faster, perform better and strengthen your immune system
