Building A Healthy Relationship with Mind & Body

@elisabade

"Trigger Warning: This post discusses eating disorders, body image, and mental health. If you are struggling, please read with care and seek support if needed."

We push through stress, ignore signs of burnout, and sometimes treat our bodies as obstacles rather than allies. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook the connection between our mind and body. Today we talk about all things sustainable wellness with Elisa Bade.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

My name is Elisa Bade, 22 years old and I was born in Frankfurt, Germany, lived in Hamburg and Paris and am passionate about health and wellness. Having gone through an ED myself 7 years ago, losing my period, visiting so many doctors and specialists and healing, I feel passionate about sharing my knowledge, helping and inspiring other girls online on my TikTok handle @storyelisa. I did not have a big sister I could turn to, so let me be the bigger sister for everyone trying to improve their health and mindset. Alongside that I am currently in a masters program, studying fashion management in London. I love painting, writing, doing pilates, going on walks and traveling.

What is your point of view of this generation health & wellness trends

The internet and social media is such a great tool! There are so much health information like never before. I would love to have these access back then. Although, as every bright side, there is also the down side. Everyone can post everything & anything

And that is where it can get dangerous. Being healthy is one thing but having an ED is a complete difference. There is a thin line between being healthy and sharing health information. People uses the word "Gut Healing" or "Getting back in Shape". For young girls (also women) that are going or had been going through these tough time with food it can be triggering and causing unhealthy point of view of health and wellness. To sum it up, I feel it is great how much more aware our generation is on health and wellness and in the long term it will only benefit our society but as everything, too extreme, nothing is good

What has got you passionate about wellness?

My personal experience is the main thing that got me passionate about wellness. Going through disordered eating, seeing many doctors and institutes to get my menstrual cycle back. After being put on pills I got mini stroke and decided to heal my body naturally. I am naturally a curious person educating myself about hormones, gut health and getting into my spiritual self, listening to podcast reading self-development book played an important role. Changing my mindset,

But apart from that, my mom is Russian, so I grew up with dry brushing, face massages, saunas, eating quite healthy, eating soups, drinking tea, going on walks in nature

What is your approach on health and wellness now?

The most important thing is to listen to your body and tune in. What do I need right now? How do I feel? Our bodies are wayyyy (!) smarter than we think and give them credit for.

I cycle sync and plan my tasks and workouts around it. True wellness is about feeling good and not about checking off a to-do list. I still do face massages in the morning, go to the gym regularly, eat healthy but not because I force myself to and rush thought it but because it makes me feel good.

Do you have any tips for someone who’s going through ED?

That is a tough question because every person’s journey is so different. Every person has a different reason why and how. But to give general advice, I would probably say, imagine what you could do with the beautiful energy that you are spending on food and your body. Other parts of your life could flourish so much. What are you trying to escape, to control, to prove by having an ED? It is deep shadow and identity work. Also being harsh to myself and comments from friends, were a wakeup call. It may sound mean, but you don't look good when you have an ED. It is unattractive. That really hit me.

What are your MUST-DO wellness tips?

Have a morning and evening routine. It doesn't have to be complicated or long. But something to set the tone for the day and to end the day to have better sleep. Wellness starts with the mind. Doing everything wellness but having a negative mindset, brings nothing. Gratefulness, I know a lot of people talk about it right now, but that is so powerful. Focus on positive things in your life when you wake up and see how your day develops.

Wellness is a journey of self-awareness, mindset shifts, and self-care. True wellness isn’t just about routines—it starts with how you think and treat yourself. By redirecting your energy toward growth, gratitude, and self-love, you can build a life that feels as good as it looks.
